About Charlie Alison

I am a jack of all trades in the world of news, editorial and public relations content. I like to write, edit, design, photograph and do graphic art, not necessarily at the same time. I’ve also helped create documentary films and contributed a 50-episode podcast to the local NPR affiliate, KUAF.

My job is executive editor for the office of university relations at the University of Arkansas. I edit the university’s alumni magazine, its catalogs of study and the university’s daily news email, which has about 40,000 subscribers and garners 1.7 million page visits per year.

On my own time, I have authored a book on Fayetteville history, co-authored a pictorial book of historic Fayetteville images and have a book under contract with the University of Arkansas Press for a history of the university. I also edited the quarterly historical journal of the Washington County Historical Society for eight years and am publishing a weekly mini-literary magazine called Ozark Hollow via email subscription through Substack.
