Watercolor, 2007
In going through old photos from my grandparents’ estate, I came across a black and white photo from the 1920s, presumably one of my grandmother’s from college. The woman had a striking face with bobbed hair, a long dramatic coat with fur collars and a button. I named her Millicent and all that remained was to bring color to bear.
