During a graphic design course in college, one of our daily assignments entailed using only the gray scale to create a memorable image. I had seen a color photograph of an eagle in a magazine and used it as a base for this quick sketch, trying to give heightened detail within the eyeglasses and a softer more impressionable feel for everything beyond the rims of the glasses.
